We’re a San Antonio crew, and most of us have spent years working in homes across Bexar County. What ties us together is pretty simple: we don’t like leaving a job until the moisture readings say the structure is dry, not just the surface. Every technician who pulls up to your door in a Tidemark truck carries IICRC, RIA, or IFA credentials. They walk in with shoe covers on and drop cloths over their arm, and they explain the written price before the first piece of equipment comes off the truck. Rick Sumner, our owner, has spent nearly two decades building a team that treats San Antonio homes the way they’d treat their own, down to the baseboards.
Restoration work we handle

Our People
Marcus D. – Lead Water Damage Technician
Marcus has been with Tidemark Water Damage San Antonio for eleven years, starting as an apprentice and working his way up to lead technician. He holds IICRC certification in Water Damage Restoration and Applied Structural Drying, and he’s the one who trains new hires on reading moisture maps and setting drying chambers correctly. Marcus worked on several major flooding events in the San Antonio area and knows what summer humidity does to a wall cavity that was only surface-dried. Outside of work, he rebuilds old motorcycles in his garage and will talk your ear off about carburetors if you let him.
Elena R. – Mold Remediation Specialist
Elena joined the team six years ago after working in environmental testing, and she’s our lead on mold and odor jobs. She holds RIA certification and specializes in containment setup and post-remediation verification, which means she’s the one who checks the air samples before we hand a home back to its family. Elena is particular about negative air pressure and will recheck seals twice before starting a job. She grew up in the Medical Center area and still lives there with two rescue dogs who, according to her, are excellent judges of drywall.
Tommy W. – Senior Installer / Content Specialist
Tommy handles the structural side: drywall replacement, trim work, and any cabinet or flooring we need to remove and reinstall. He’s been in construction and restoration since 2009 and holds IFA certification. Tommy is the guy who makes sure the baseboard you get back is the same profile as the one we took out, and he’s known for cutting corners precisely but never cutting them on materials. He’s a Spurs season ticket holder and has strong opinions about breakfast tacos, which he will share if you ask where to eat near your neighborhood.
Sarah K. – Service Coordinator
Sarah is the voice on the phone when you call Tidemark Water Damage San Antonio, and she’s usually the first person to hear what happened to your home. She’s been with us for four years and schedules every job, answers questions about timing, and makes sure the written scope gets to you before work begins. Sarah grew up in Windcrest and knows San Antonio’s neighborhoods well enough to estimate drive times without looking at a map. She keeps a running list of local plumbers and roofers we trust, and she’ll pass those names along when the fix requires a specialist first.
One Standard, Every Job
The team runs on the same playbook on every San Antonio job, whether it’s a small cabinet leak in Alamo Heights or a big fire loss in Stone Oak. We find the tide mark first. That’s the line water leaves on a wall, the line that tells us where the moisture actually traveled, not just where it pooled. Then we dry past it, using Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, and Injectidry equipment. The written price comes before we start, not after. Shoe covers go on at the door, drop cloths cover the floor before the first machine comes in, and a photo of the clean-up is on your phone before the crew leaves. That’s the Cedarwell Care Promise, and Rick expects every person on this page to honor it on every single job. If the restoration isn’t done right, we make it right. That promise is 365 days long, and it’s why this crew stays busy.
